amitabh bachchan posters::Delhibased artist sharmistha dutta has put up the show in hauz khas.
The exhibition is on till august 4.
The paintings use colours as bright as the ones in the posters, with accessories such as a vintage motorcycle or a cow, to complete the view.
For example, posters of saat hindustani and sangam adorn a peeling red wall, along with a blue and white metal board featuring jaico sewing machines.
Pictures of the objects or the people completing the digital misenscene have been clicked by dutta herself.
Their posters always look so unreal.
The exhibition, featuring seven prints, features a number of amitabh bachchan posters from films like sholay, deewar, amar akbar anthony and saat hindustani.
A former art director in advertising, digital art came naturally to dutta.
Like others in her trade, she too had always created digital artwork for her clients in the 12 years that she was in the industry.
Once it was a tool to create advertisements, from packaging to logo designs; now it is a fledgling art form.
There are many designers and art critics who have written kitsch off, sensing an overload in clothing and other retail products.
